The Group

Mikkel Schou [director, curator, (el.)guitar]
Guitarist and curator. Curation as an artistic practice is central to his work, in which events are conceptualized as musical compositions that are comprised of distinct artworks that contextualize each other. Schou is also Co-Director of MINU_festival_for_expanded_music.
Rob Durnin [vice-director, curator, keyboards, composer]
Pianist and composer whose music fixates on human-technological interactions, rendered in sculptural arrangements that blend instrument, costume and scenography. His compositions use algorithmic and highly systematised processes which are then distorted by fragile or unpredicable apparatuses.

Hsiao-Tung Yuan [percussion]
Percussionist specialising in contemporary music. With a diverse musical profile, she has been dedicated to expanding the solo percussion repertoire via collaboration with a number of composers.

Joss Smith [clarinet, composer]
Composer and clarinettist who writes both instrumental and multimedia works, linked by a focus on the perception of small changes in order to build tension and subvert compositional trajectories.

Ida Nørby [cellist, composer]
Cellist and film composer with a speciality in cross-genre collaboration. Her work spans from musical theatre to contemporary art music, performer/composer collectives and more.
Michael Hope [keyboards, composer]
Composer and performer whose output challenge traditional western art music conceptions of craft, virtuosity, and genius, drawing on the acceleration of waste, cliché, and precariousness endemic to the production and consumption of contemporary society and culture, whilst simultaneously misusing media, technology, and data in an audacious embrace of uncertainty and contradiction.

Alexandra Hallén [cello, composer]
A multi-faceted artist, who explores the boundaries of herself and the audience, as both a composer and cellist.

Jens-Peter Møller [el.bass, composer]
Musician and composer who operates somewhere between free improvisational music, funk, African rock music, traditional drum music, new music, classical music and jazz.

Roberto Beseler Maxwell [clarinet, international manager and production assistant]
Curator, clarinetist and cultural manager. As a curator, his focus is on refuting the elitist element of new music by curating accessible formats and opening them up to new audiences, through hosting concerts in non-canonical venues and with unconventional programs.
